New CD 'Amar Bhalobashar Swadesh'

The CD is a collection of Ganasangeet. Some of the songs have been written by Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury, Swagotalakshmi Dasgupta, Shukanta Bhattacharya, Ahmad Safa and Shalil Chowdhury. Born in 1954, the artiste is a freedom fighter and is well known as an organiser of Kranti Artiste Organisation.

A hero of Language Movement ,Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury unveiled the CD and said, 'Sometimes we confuse Ganasangeet with patriotic songs but the subtle difference between the two is that the singers and writers of Ganasangeet have a commitment towards the ordinary people, commitment to take these songs to the grass root level.'

Eminent cultural personality Kamal Lohani said, 'It is a happy moment for us that a Ganasangeet album is being released today. It is very unfortunate that there is a big scarcity of Ganasangeet albums in our country because of economic limitations and organisational weaknesses.'

Among others Syed Moazzem Hossain, Fakir Alamgir, Golum Kuddus and the artiste himself spoke on the occasion. After the CD launching programme the artiste performed many songs like Ekhaney Jara Pran Diechhe, Amader Nayan Modhye, Tomra Gonya Manya, Ami To Jiboner, Shunechho Keu and others.
