A new era of co-operation between art and architecture

Eminent artist Rafiqun Nabi yesterday inaugurated an exhibition on print-making done by the students of the Department of Architecture of the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) at the UAP premises. The printmaking studio works were done under the supervision of artist Ahmed Nazir. Gallery 'Chitrak' has extended its full co-operation to the students of UAP in providing the facilities for this newly emerging media of art in Dhaka. The exhibition adds a new dimension through the presentation of the process of print-making along with the products for display.

The exhibition, first of its kind, symbolizes the strong relationship and co-operation between the two fields of Art and Architecture. The inaugural session was also marked by the presence of many renowned artists, architects and other professionals. Professor Rafiqunnabi congratulated the young student artists and asked them to carry on their effort. Professor of UAP, renowned architect, Shamsul Wares thanked Professor Rafiqun Nabi for his presence and emphasized the value of collaboration between art and architecture professionals. Artist and eminent cartoonist Shishir Bhaattacharya was also present.

The Exhibition will remain open for public till August 6th, 2003 at the Department of Architecture exhibition lobby, UAP, at House 51, Road. 4A, Dhanmondi - Dhaka.
