New Tona Tuni albums

Three more musical albums hit the market at Eid. Audio-visual production house Tona Tuni has released one Rabindra Sangeet album titled Shyamal Chhaya by Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya, a folk song title, Nimantran, by Kiran Chandra Ray, and an album of modern Bangla songs titled Mon Keno Bojhena by Rehana Rahman. The releases, recorded on both cassettes and CDs, were ceremonially announced on November 20 at the Dilkhusha Hallroom of Hotel Purbani. Tona Tuni Managing Director Mahbubur Rahman Jainal, accompanied by the artistes, unwrapped the covers of the three albums.

Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya's Rabindra Sangeet title Shyamal Chhaya contains twelve songs including Amar shakol rasher dhara, Amare tumi ashesh korechho, Jonaki ki shukhey, Praan chay chokkhu na chay and Dakbona dakbona. Musician Durbadal Das directs the music of the album.

Kiran Chandra Ray's collection is dedicated to the memory of poet Jasimuddin and has a few songs written by the poet of nature. Eminent lyricist Nazrul Islam Babu also contributes to the album besides a few traditional songs. Singer Kiran himself directs the music of the album. Songs include Tumi jabe bhai, Shada mon-e kokhon jeno, Rashikjona rasher tori, Amar dui nayon-e thak and others.

Rehana Rahman's album contains songs written by Dr. Golam Mustafa, Prakash Chandra Shil and young lyricist Abeg Rahman.

Coordinated by Mojibur Rahman Dilu, the programme was attended by eminent singers Rathindranath Roy and Kaderi Kibria.
