Nirman Mela
On the eve of New Year, a group of young enthusiasts of the capital are set to hold an exceptional festival on December 30-31 at the Central Library and Institute of Modern Languages premises on the Dhaka University campus. TitledNirman Mela 2004, the fair features exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, photographs, architecture, little magazines, screening of films and sessions of new songs. The programme is organised by Mukto Praner Mukto Gaan (MPMG), a voluntary cultural group of students from Dhaka University, BUET, Jahangirnagar University, Chittagong University, Rajshahi University and Khulna University.
In March this year, MPMG organised a similar event featuring songs of promising young amateur performers. These artistes will also perform at this year-ending event. All the artistic works of these youths will project the thoughts and ideologies of the present generation.
