NSU enclosed acoustic session: Taar Chhera Bhalobasha

It was one of their campus gigs on February 11 at the BTA Tower organised by North South University Sanskritic Songoton (NSUSS). The title of the show Taar Chhera Bhalobasha, although very cheesy, reflected the passion of the upcoming Valentine's Day.
Band X took to the stage first amidst huge applause of a very amenable audience and they started with Bangla numbers. Enthusiasm doubled during the first song Boshey Achhi -- cover of the famous Warfaze track. Band X played some more cover songs which got a good reaction. The audience enjoyed covers of Adhbhut Shei Chheleyti of Aurthohin, Alo of Warfaze, and LRB's Shei Tumi -- with a sweet harmonica intro and more.
Next came a band comprised of all guest members coupled to amuse the crowd. They covered local hit Tara Jola Ratri of Legend, and Heaven of the famous Bryan Adams.
Adding impressive sets of tune, the band Burn performed songs for the crowd including their cover of Adams' Summer of 69. Their own tracks Smritir Akash, Upolobdhi with good guitaring were nonetheless applauded.
Artei was another band from the continuing line up. Their tuneful compositions in fact made the very enthusiastic NSU audience perform their rolling dance, with hands in swirling motions. One of the tracks featured the guest appearance by Elita on vocals and Sanjana on the violin. They worked really well together: some great tunes and melodies and the violin added that little bit of a twist and the crowd -- squeezed in by then to over capacity -- loved it too.
The very popular Emil took the stage after that, wowing the audiences with his straight-down-the-line magnetic songs and fruity, tasteful voice. The crowd were longing for more after this talented boy along with his band Triloy performed the first two songs. Annie's Song of John Denver, Hotel California of Eagles and some delightful tracks, including love songs of their own, were on the menu of the band. Anmoney, Kobita and Durey were few of their well-commended self-composed tracks. The performance was very compact endowing as one of the best groups for the evening.
The last band was Ashor, performing a set comprised of You're a God of Vertical Horizon, Plush of Stone Temple Pilots, Shopno-Chuto--their own song and more. They concluded with a jamming of Habib's Krishno that got the audiences on their toes.
As these club actions continue to take place, apart from the fact of 'extra curricular activities', these musical events are actually providing a greater sense of satisfaction which is perceptible clearly from the students' response on that winter evening.
