ntv specials for Saarc

The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) was established when its Charter was formally adopted on December 8, 1985 by the Heads of State or Governments of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The Association provides a platform for the people of South Asia to work together in a spirit of friendship, trust and understanding. It aims to promote the mass welfare of South Asia and to improve the quality of life through accelerated economic growth, social progress and cultural development in the region.

ntv is set to telecast a five-day-long special programme that started from yesterday, on the occasion of the Saarc summit, including special documentaries, a musical programme and a feature film.

A special documentary on Maldives will be telecast at 04:25pm on November 10, while a documentary on Nepal will be aired at 04:25pm on November 11. Likewise Pakistan will be in the spotlight at 04:25pm on November 12, Sri Lanka at 04:25pm and Bangladesh at 06:50pm on November 13.

As part of the Saarc special programmes, ntv will air a two-episode special, Road To Dhaka at 08.20pm on November 12 and 13. A solo musical programme by Runa Laila, Geeti Modhumoy will be aired at 12:10am on November 13. A Bangla feature film, Jibon Shangshar will be aired at 10:00pm on November 10.

ntv will telecast the live inaugural and closing ceremony of Saarc on November 12 and 13 at 09:45am and 02:45pm respectively.
