Obaidullah Al-Zakir's short film Interview

Zakir's film presents a youth named Shumon who, after completing his MA, is hunting for a job. Shumon's father, a retired professor, helps him by keeping advertisement clippings from newspapers. One day, a few days before an interview, Shumon has to go to his village to bring his mother back. On his journey to the village by train, Shumon encounters several incidents in the train compartment. In the village, too, Shumon witnesses a few occurrences. Some of these experiences delight Shumon while others sadden him.
Back in Dhaka, Shumon starts feeling rather disturbed by these memories. At such a moment of transition, a painting depicting a big white question mark on a black background attracts Shumon's attention. He realises that he has some questions in his mind and that he has to seek the answers. He loses interest in the interview as well as any materialistic matters. The film thus portrays the complexities of the mind of a modern man.
The cast of the film includes Abdullah Al-Mamun, Towkir Ahmed, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Joyonto Chattapadhyay, Sumaiya Shimu and others.
