'Ontoraler Kotha': Nancy's saga

An outline of the case study: Nancy was a brilliant Class four student. Her father was busy with his office. Her grandmother spent time watching TV and reading the newspaper. Her uncle Farhad used to take drugs all day at his house. He hated sunlight. His wife was driven to leave him because of his drug addiction. Nancy's mother was protective of her daughter who was not only a brilliant student but also a good dancer and singer. His father was too busy with his business and could not give time to the family. Consequently, she was always deprived of his affection. Neither her grandmother nor her uncle talked to her. They only person she was close to was her mother.

However, this story ended on a happy note: Nancy was taken to a doctor and subsequently referred to S Z Rozina Parvin, who counselled both Nancy and her family. Gradually she recuperated and with the support of her family has regained her past serenity. Her parents no longer quarrel with each other; everyone gives her time and takes her out.
