Padatik's daylong tribute to the Language Martyrs

With the slogan Jago Nirbhoy Dhamey, Jago Shangram Shajey, the programme was inaugurated by veteran language activist Gaziul Haque. Mahfuz Anam, editor of The Daily Star, was present as special guest. The National Anthem and the timeless song of Ekushey by Padatik Sangeet Sangsad followed next.

Rendition of songs like Muktiro Mandiro Shopano Toley, Jago Anshano Bandi and other people's songs by Padatik Sangeet Sangsad, Kranti, Wrishiz Shilpi Goshthi, and group recitation by Shwanan, Katha Abritti Charcha Kendra, Kanthashilon, Baikuntha Abritti Academy enthralled the crowd. Street plays were performed by Shayannika Theatre, Arja Theatre, Mahala while dance performances by Nrityanamdan and Pubali Sansad from Feni were also held. Popular singers Timir Nandi, Anup Bhattacharya, Naima Ali, Fakir Alamgir, Bulbul Mahalanabish, Iffat Ara Dewan, Fahim Hossain Chowdhury, Shammi Akhter and eminent reciter of India, Pradeep Ghosh also performed.
