Palakar kids building future theatre activists

Palakar, a theatre group in Bangladesh, has recently started a theatre appreciation course for children. The first batch of 'Palakar Kids' has successfully completed their course. To certify the successful students of the course, the group arranged a colourful programme at its Dilu Road office compound. Liakat Ali Lucky, General Secretary of Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation, was present to share the joy of the success with the little theatre activists.

All the students of the first batch named Sakal Belar Pakhi, were in a gay mood, wearing colourful costumes of the drama Obak Jalpan they staged on the day. The students appeared on the stage dressed as the popular characters like Ramgorurer Chhana, Kumro Potash, Baburam Sapurey from the fascinating writings of Sukumar Ray.

The chief guest highly praised the initiative taken by Palakar. He also appreciated the performance by the students. After the drama, the chief guest handed over the certificate to the successful students. Tapu, one of the senior members of the group, wished to continue such course and announced that they are going to start the second such course from May.
