Penaz Masani in town

Penaz Masani is a celebrated name in India, amongst the many ghazal lovers. Since 1981, she has cut over 20 discs and sung in over 10 languages. She has also moulded her own voice to render a vast range of ghazals, starting from the traditional to the more modern forms. She cut her first album in 1981 entitled Aap ki bazm mein
Swinging with the times, Penaz has begun to adapt to the mod beat. She entered the Pop world with her album Tu dil de de, which topped the charts on Channel V and MTV. Penaz is also one of the first female ghazal singers to have been awarded a Platinum Disc.
The programme will start at 7:00 pm at the Osmani Memorial Hall. Apart from the performance at Dhaka, the troupe will also perform at Chittagong on May 1. Complimentary passes can be collected from the High Commission of India, Information & Culture Wing, House no. 2, Road no. 142, Gulshan-1, Dhaka.
