Sixty seven young artists, many of them students of the Institute of Fine Arts, Dhaka University, have the opportunity to display their works. On till December 30 at the DOTS Contemporary Art Centre, the exhibition showcases 100 paintings and eight sculptures.

Among the works is Farjana Ahmed's oil painting. This semi-abstract work in oil depicts what appear as flower petals against a background of brown, blue and white. Then comes Mohammad Imran brightly hued oil painting which has swirls and splashes of orange, yellow and brown.

Among the other talented artists whose paintings are exhibited at DOTS are Jashimuddin Xicon, Nrittanando Gain, Nahid Rokhsana, Abdus Sattar Towfiq, Arif Haque and Kazi Zahid.

In the ranks of the sculptors are Uttam Kumar Ray who has fashioned an abstract sculpture which depicts figures. There is also Asif Uzzaman's sculpture which represents a tree trunk.

The exhibition gives viewers a chance to get acquainted with the works of upcoming artists in the country. Here's to more such art displays.
