Prachya: A narrative play

Protagonist Selim with narrator Shimul at the play
InPrachya, Selim Al Deen has created a parallel myth derived fromManosha Puran. The storyline of the play is simple: the death of a bride by snakebite on her wedding night and the arduous journey of her vengeful husband. In the play, Selim has wonderfully depicted the culture of the feudal rural Bangladesh. This includes the relationship between feudal lord and peasant, man and nature and others. That is why, Selim Al Deen's narrative playPrachyacan be interpreted in different ways.
