Preservation endeavour of Bangladesh Loko Sangeet Porishad

To popularise and preserve the traditional songs of the country especially those, which are on the verge of extinction, Bangladesh Loko Sangeet Porishad (BLSP) is set to organise a regular monthly discussion session and a musical soiree of folk songs. The programme will be held at Bishwa Sahitya Kendra auditorium on May 18 at 5pm. BLSP has been regularly organising music soirees, featuring a vast range of folk songs by authentic Bauls along with Bangladeshi folk instruments.

Senior vice president of BLSP and veteran folk singer Akramul Islam will preside over the function. Eminent poet and cultural activist Asad Choudhury as the chief guest, founder president of BLSP Indra Mohon Rajbongshi and Nasrin Ferdous Chaman general secretary of BLSP will be present at the event.
