Commemorating the first anniversary of the July Uprising of 2024, the band Prohor is all set to release their new track, "Poth Chola".

For Saikat Ahmed Al Bari, the lyricist, keyboardist and composer of the song, it is more than just a musical creation. It is a heartfelt homage to the martyrs, students, and activists who shaped the country's recent political landscape. Although the lyrics were penned before the uprising unfolded, the song's verses now echo with renewed relevance. It captures the indomitable human spirit and reflects the restless yearning for justice and change that defined the movement.

A music video accompanying the track, conceptualised and directed by Mir Hisham, uses archival protest footage and symbolic imagery, creating a narrative that resonates deeply with the mood of 2024.

Originally formed in 2004, Poth Chola marks Prohor's 9th studio release. In a press release, the band shared their belief that music can serve as both a mirror and a memory, reminding future generations of the power of collective action.

The current lineup of the band includes Saikat Ahmed Al Bari (keyboards, lyrics, and lead composer), Piyash Shahriar (main vocals), Mahin Lasker (lead, bass guitar and backing vocals), and Shahiduzzaman Biplob (drums and percussion), Mir Hisham (Video Engineering).
