Rajshahi University buzzes with a Drama and Film Festival

The festival was inaugurated by dance artiste Bazlur Rahman Badal.

On the occasion, a colourful rally was brought out in front of the department premises and wound its way through the campus. The rally was jointly inaugurated by Badal and department chairman Professor Abdul Matin Talukder, who led the procession.

The Music and Drama department students' organisation 'Deshawpath Chalochittro Sangsad' premiered a film Balu Ghori, to observe the first founding anniversary of the organisation at Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium. The film is directed by Rajibul Hossain and Habib Zakaria is the scriptwriter.

Later, second year students of the department presented the play Seagull at Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium. The play, written by Anton Chekov is directed by Habib Zakaria.

The fourth year students presented Joiboti Koneer Mon at Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium the following day. The playwright was Professor Salim Al Din and it was directed by Habib Zakaria, while the music direction was provided by Shukon Sarker.
