The revival of Khadi

At the time when there was a question of sustaining the existence of Khadi, BRAC came forward and helped them. They also built a platform like 'Aarong' through which they exposed 'Khadi'. Along with it, boutique houses like 'Arayanna', 'Nipun' and 'Kumudini' also came forward. Thus creating popularity and demand for local Khadi.
Apart from rolls of Khadi, Arun's also makes sarees, shawls, bedcovers and even handkerchief with Khadi. And all these beautiful traditional eye-catching varieties are available in Banglar Mela from the very beginning.
Ten years passed by and for Arun's endless effort and productive ideas, he has achieved enormous amount of respect and honour and has reached the peak of success in the world of Khadi.
In the previous year Banglar Mela awarded Sree Kushnath Das, a weaver from Chapainawabganj for developing the process of improving the quality of silk. This year Banglar Mela will award Arun Guho for his contribution in producing Khadi.
By doing so Banglar Mela believe that they can also earn respect and reliability from everyone.
