Shaheen Samad performs a catchy number

The sixth function of its kind, the programme first introduced Shuman Majumder, a young talented singer. Shuman warmed up the crowd with popular Nazrul and old Bangla songs like Adhkhana chad hashichhe akashe, Ke jeno aaj Amar chokhe, Baro eka eka lagey, Jodi tumi na, Ami je jalsha gharey. His songs were well appreciated by a nostalgic audience.

Shaheen Samad stepped on stage next to the delight of the audience. She enthralled the crowd with various patterns of Nazrul songs like Shapone esho nirojaney, Parodeshi bodhu, Aakhijal mochho priya.

Besides Nazrul songs, Shaheen performed Tappa Tomari tulona, Dadra Phirey keno elena, Josona korechhe ari, Ghazal Cheyona sunayona, Bhajan Payoji mayna ram ratan, songs of Rajanikanta Sen, Shyama Sangeet, old Bangla songs and many other numbers.

Among the instrumentalists were Jalal on the flute, Taposh on the tabla and Almas on the violin. The music enriched both the soul and mind of the audience.

About the initiative of Orchestra, Shaheen Samad said, 'This show is a great opportunity for the established as well as young talents. Functions like this can go a long way in creating a discerning audience.'

The CEO of Orchestra Ahmed Hasan said about their objective, 'Although we are organising the shows on commercial basis, our prime target is to build a healthy tradition of presenting the mainstream music of our country to the audience.'
