Roszarubezhtsentr: Alive and kicking at 80
Chief guest Vladimir T Dzhunkovskiy, deputy head of mission of the Russian Federation to Bangladesh and Guest of Honour Justice KM Sobhan and Yury I. Makarov, Head, Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Dhaka were also present.
Altogether 23 illustrious personalities received awards, from Roszarubezhtsentr, for their immense contribution to the noble cause of strengthening Russia-Bangladesh ties and friendship and promoting people to people contacts.

The recipients of the Sign of Honour award are Justice KM Sobhan, Asaduzzaman Noor, Ali Aksad, Ambassador Waliur Rahman, Enam Ahmed Chaudhury, Major General (Retd.) Amsa Amin, Ndc, psc, KM Shamsur Rahman, MM Rezaul Karim, and Mustafa Faruq Muhammed.
Fourteen recipients received the Letter of Appreciation award. The awardees are Nasrine R Karim, Prof. KH Bazlul Haque, Mr. Mozammel Haque MP, Dr Zahid Hossain Prodhan, Zaved Zafar, chief administrative officer, AHM Mustafizur Rahman, Professor Mahmudul Haque, SK Bashir Ahmed Mamun, director, Fayza Haq, Rumi Noman, Takir Hossain, Advocate Abdul Mannan Khan, Dr Tahir Shah and Mohammad Yusuf Hasan Nipu. The awardees appreciated Roszarubezhtsentr's attempt to acknowledge contributions of people from different sectors.
"The biggest asset of Bangladesh is that people are very friendly here," remarked Yuri I. Makarov, Head, Russian Centre of Science and Culture. As Roszarubezhtsentr in Dhaka has a dedicated staff, one can only hope for more enthralling treats from this cultural centre in future.
