'Sangrai Poyehh' festival in Bandarban

A colourful procession was brought out by Marmas, irrespective of age. The festival encapsulated various activities such as 'Sakri Suhho Rositokkataing (revering the elders)', 'Rikzai Poyehh (splashing water on one another)', discussions, traditional games and cultural programmes.

The festival was inaugurated amidst much enthusiasm at the Thaingkhyong Buddhist Monastery. Thousands of adults and children of the indigenous community attended the event.
