In search of an enlightened generation

About 1500 youngsters from 51 schools in Chittagong city were awarded at the event early in the morning. The programme started with the resonating beats of dhol. A raffle draw was held and four of the parents received books as prizes.

Addressing the crowd, educationist Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed said, "An enlightened mind is like a luminous flame. By reading books, one is not only benefitted but he/she can educate several others. Enlightened individuals can guide a nation to greater heights."

Chairperson of Chittagong Board of Education, professor AJM Shahidullah; chief education officer of Chittagong City Corporation, Rowshan Akhter Hanif and others also spoke at the occasion.
