Shafin's tribute to Komol Dasgupta

Feroza Begum, celebrated Nazrul artiste was present as chief guest at the function. She was firm in her opinion that Dasgupta's compositions would live through the ages because of their innate musical appeal and rich lyrics.

Shafin, youngest son of Dasgupta and Feroza Begum, is a pop icon of Bangladesh and lead vocalist of the popular band Miles. At the event, Shafin said that the album was one of his personal dream projects. He pointed out that few audio companies would take on such a challenge. In his words, "Impress has taken a bold initiative in presenting the rich heritage of Bangla songs to the new generation listeners in a form that will hopefully appeal to a wide range of audience." Others present at the occasion were Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed of Bishwa Shahitya Kendra; Towfiq Seraj, managing director of Sheltech; Faridul Reza Sagor, managing director Impress Telefilm; Mishu Rahman, head of operations Impress Audio Vision, members of the band Miles and noted guests.

Professor Sayeed lauded Dasgupta's long struggle and ultimate contribution to Bengali music. In his view, the album was a solemn reminder of the great composer's talent and would continue to inspire future generations of music lovers.
