Showcasing brilliance in photo-journalism

The contest theme, Changing Asia showcases the dynamism and colourful culture of the region. One hundred and sixty-six photographers were selected from about 20,000 entries. Among them eight photographers won the Gold Prize in different categories and 160 photographs won special honorary awards. Bangladeshi photojournalists Shahadat Parvez of Prothom Alo won three awards in the contest. Violence Merit Campus, Violent bigots, and Spanning Over Generation are the titles of Parvez's photographs. Parvez also won the Gold Medal in The 66th International Photographic Salon of Japan, one of the world's largest and most prestigious photojournalism contests announced on January this year.
