Shuddha Sangeet Proshar Goshthi celebrates 30 years with classical music

Around 19 students aged between 16-25 of classical music from all over Bangladesh participated in the three-day conference. Among the participators nineteen students including Ali Ummul Faria from Rajshahi, Ria Tola Patro, Prianka Das and Tasmina Chowdhury from Chittagong, Naeem Murtaja and Tawhidul Islam from Jessore, Ridita Ray Chowdhury and Sharmila Majumdar from Sylhet performed classical songs and instrumentals.

Led by Ustad Zakir Hossain, founding chairman of the organisation, some enthusiastic artistes of classical music established the Shuddha Sangeet Proshar Goshthi in 1975. With the objective to promote classical music properly and to develop the prevailing standard of classical artistes in the country, the organisation arranges different classical programmes throughout the year.

Apart from Protibha Bikash, there are similar programmes such as Protibha Sphuron for children under 16 and Protibha Shondhan for artistes who are 25 years old or above.

The organisation also arranges some musical conferences every year involving artistes from across the country.
