Songs of the yesteryears at Bishwa Shahitya Kendra

Cultural organisation Srijan arranges musical evening on songs of the yesteryears, on the last Thursday of every month, at the Bishwa Shahitya Kendra. Promising and prominent singers of the country perform songs of the yesteryears in these programmes. To keep the practice of the songs and to inspire the young ones to perform these songs is the objective of these programmes.

Popular singer Subir Nandi was the chief guest while special guests were eminent musical personality Mahbuba Rahman and Nazrul singer Bulbul Moholanabish. Subir Nandi started the programme with his popular number Paharer Kanna Dekhe Tomra Takey Jhorna Bolo and after this he performed Amar E Duti Chokh Pathor To Noy Tobu Keno Khoye Khoye Jay.

Promising singer Tanzina Parvin Tama sang two Tagore songs Je Ratey Mor Duar Guli Bhanglo Jhorey and Amarey Dak Dilo Ke Upor Paney. The Nazrul songs by Towhidul Islam was enchanting and the Shahnaz Rahmotullah's number Je Chhilo Drishtir Shimanay by Samia Naz Lubna was greatly cheered by the audience. The other singers presented traditional folk songs and modern songs.
