A star studded evening

The added attraction of the event was the special appearance of Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman. "I am elated at the reception and the award given by the young journalists' association. I would love to re-visit this country," she said, while receiving the special CJFB award.

Zeenat Aman attended the event as special guest and handed over the prizes to the winners, while M Rashidu-zzaman Millat, MP and M Barkat Ullah, general manager Channel 1 were present as special guests.

The awards were divided into eight categories. Film director and producer Dilip Biswas (late) won the Lifetime Achievement Award for his notable accomplishments and contribution to film industry, while dramatist Pronob Bhatto, actor Azizul Hakim, actress Srabonti were presented the CJFB Award. Besides the award-giving ceremony, a glitzy musical programme entertained the audience.

A musical performance, Vigi vigi raatey, rendered by pop icon James, who has stirred the hearts of millions in our subcontinent with this song, was greeted with applause. Popular artistes from our cultural arena ensured that the three-hour long event remained a memorable one. A duet dance performed by Tonny Dyes and his wife Priya Dyes was also well received by the audience.

The evening also had its razzle dazzle: A sea of stars and superstars and many literary, journalistic and media personalities turned up at the event.
