Swani Zubayeer: A glimpse of the singer

Starting with training in the north Indian scales, rhythms and Nazrul songs, he became a promising figure on the cultural circuit while in Notre Dame College in the late 1980s. Away in India till 1995, he returned to Dhaka. A firm desire to unite the West and East musically, led him to study western classical composition. In 2001, he enrolled as a student at the Department of Composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. He will graduate in 2005.

Zubayeer has several artistic accomplishments to his credit:

Apna Khayaal: a collection of nine ghazals, written by poet Waliul Hamid Aziz, Nirjon Shakhor, a collection of 10 Bangla songs written, arranged and performed by Zubayeer and Shadakalo Dinguli, an autobiographical book.
