Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy observed Rabindranath's 62nd death anniversary on 6 August. A discussion session focused on Tagore's life and his immense contribution to Bangla literature and the society as well. Dr. Ashraf Siddiqui, Abul Kalam Manzur Morshed, Zubaida Gulshan and Abul Kalam Fazlul Haque took part in the discussion. They spoke about the poet's life, his inspirations, his feelings and thoughts, and also quoted a few lines from his books.

The discussion was followed by a cultural show. Various artistes sang Tagore's melodious compositions. The audience swayed to the songs and thoroughly enjoyed each number.

There were some recitations from Tagore's heart touching compositions, which literally took everyone into a reverie. Group dances were also performed at the show.

The programme was part of the observation going on in and around the capital on the occasion of the death anniversary of the legendary poet, Rabindranath Tagore.
