Tanusree's dance to complement Anand Shankar's melodies

The High Commission of India will be presenting Modern Dance Performance by visiting Indian Cultural troupe led by Tanusree Shankar on 12 August at 7pm, at the Osmani Memorial Hall says a press release. Apart from the performance at Dhaka, the troupe will be performing at Rajshahi on 9 August and at Chittagong on 11August..

Tanusree Shankar is a dancer and choreographer of international repute. She has developed a kind of Choreography, which reaches out to audiences worldwide. Her choreography is not a combination of classical dance, but is outstanding and original following the path shown by Uday Shankar. Tanusree's dances are based on music by her husband Anand Shankar, composer and populariser of world music, whose melodies perfectly complement his wife's dynamic choreography. As a choreographer, Tanusree has excellent credentials. She has handled the choreography for various prestigious international conferences, festivals and mega events, including the Asian Games, the Festival of India in the USSR, the Wills World Cup Cricket Championships and Edinburgh International Fringe Festival 2001. Her dance troupe has toured extensively to more than 35 countries for performances and workshops at prestigious theatres.
