Theatre groups from the hinterland come to Dhaka

Khowai Theatre stages Bhumiputra

Bhumiputra recounts the story of displaced and homeless people in search of new habitation. Through the depiction of traditional land practices and rituals, the play portrays their dilemma. The play is written by Siddiky Harun and directed by Toffazzal Sohel.

Bangladesh Theatre Development Project, a joint programme of Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation and Bengal Foundation to promote theatre activities outside Dhaka, funds the play. Under this project, theatre groups from outside Dhaka will perform a play every month in Dhaka.
