TV campaign against gender violence
Today's episode is about a college student, Kona (pseudonym). Kona used to be harassed and teased often by Monir and his friends on her way to college.
With time the harassment became more frequent and one day, she was attacked and dragged away by Monir to a local clubhouse, where Monir proposed to marry her. Kona declined and after much scuffling, police rescued her from the clubhouse and arrested Monir. However, he is released after a few days on bail.

Meanwhile, due to the social stigma associated with the incident, Kona's parents yield to Monir's proposal and Kona gets married to him. Eventually Monir, his mother and sister start torturing Kona for dowry. When it got worse, Kona had no other way but to ask her father for money, to appease Monir and his family. One day Kona refuses to ask her father for money and is strangled by her husband.
Directed by Salah Uddin Sanowar, the episode called Case Study: Kona, will be aired on Channel i at 6:20pm this evening.
