TV Watch

The central character (Shahid-uzzaman Selim) returns home after an overseas stint. He opens up a shop in his village but is confronted with problems: he is squeezed for credit by people well known to him and hoodlums. Eventually he is forced to pack up his business. In the meantime, the play's lead female character (Sohana Saba) joins forces with Selim. The duo then embark on a new journey.

'Joyeetar Joyjatra': Shomi's talk show on women's issues

A 13-episode talk show, titled Joyeetar Joijatra and based on women's issues, is currently running on ntv. The programme is the brainchild of popular actress Shomi Kaisar, who is also the host.

Directed by Rana Masud, the programme seeks to share information and resources, exchange ideas, promote awareness and ethics, zero in on success stories and promote gender equality. Each episode of the show also features a discussion with well-known personalities from different fields in the country.

The show is aired every Tuesday at 9:00 pm.

A prize giving ceremony organised by Arshi Nagor Folk Literary Cultural Community (ANFCC), was held at the Bangladesh Shishu Academy (BSA) auditorium on August 16. Folk researcher Dr Ashraf Siddique attended as chief guest and handed over the prizes to the winners
