Rezaul (R), the voice that captivated hearts of the Comilla audience
It is not easy for a newcomer to win the hearts of a crowd who are in fact waiting for the appearance of big names of the band music arena such as LRB and maqsood O' dHAKA to appear on stage. With Rezaul Karim Limon, however, to get the attention seemed to be more of a matter of the heart rather than of music only. The winner of Best Composition and Best Lyricist categories in the Star Search 2004, Rezaul not only made his way among the audience of Comilla but also made them applaud from deep in their hearts.

Rezaul was performing at the Comilla Shilpakala Academy auditorium as part of an ongoing nationwide unplugged concert series organised by British American Tobacco (BAT). Titled Live & Acoustic, the concert also featured LRB and maqsood O' dHAKA. The proceeds from the concert is to go to Shandhani.

Rezaul took the stage first and sang eight songs of which five were his original numbers. This young unimpressive-looking boy has a gifted taste of the lyrics. His songs Kichhu jodi mone porey tomar, Ichchhe jokhon asheem, Dwijo Das-er gaan, Aj ekta gaan likhbo tomar jonnyo and Durey thaka maney mon theke durey jaowa noy can have wonderful effect on the audience just for its lyrics if not for music in all the cases. Especially, the track Dwijo Das-er gaan has an extraordinary wisdom of humanity from the Sanskrit literature. And the one Aj ekta gaan likhbo, his award-winning number at the last year's Star Search, gives a tender feeling of love.

The Comilla experience must remain an everlasting inspiration in the upcoming singer's heart.

When LRB's Aiyub Bachchu entered the stage, the audience simply got crazy with shouts and applauds and requests. Bachchu did not dishearten them either--he seldom does. The popular numbers including Obhilashi ami, Shob bhalo tui eka bashish ne, Meye, Ami baromash tomay bhalobashi, Chalo bodley jai, Tomar chokhe dekhle bondhu, Koshto and Tin purush came one after another making the young audience more and more crazy. Bachchu also sang the very famous soundtrack from the film Bachellor--Amito premey porini. He concluded with his patriotic composition Bangladesh.

After LRB maqsood O' dHAKA cooled the audience a little with his famous numbers like Ei mon-ke bojhano je gelona, Aj tomar chithi, Bangladesh '95, Moushumi, Telephone and Mone porey tomay. A couple of folk-based fusions like Mon amar deho ghori and Roshik amar mon bandhiya were a different touch altogether. His Hey Parwardigar was also a thought-provoking performance. With Maqsood's most loved number Melay jaire the concert came to an end.

However, although it was an 'unplugged' and 'acoustic' concert, it was not understood why both LRB and maqsood O' dHAKA performed with full electric instruments.
