Words are strangers

On a hospital bed

Fighting for Life.

Words are strangers

On a hospital bed

Fighting for Life.

Words are food crumbs

on a footpath.

Words are blankets

For a beggar.

Words march on with candles and torches

Singing lullabies of the outcast.

Words cross borders

Without panicking of surgical strikes,

Words are not afraid

Of the government stooges.

They sign petitions

And give speeches that disturb the sensex.

Words don't build fences

Instead they build bridges

For a better path,

An impartial law.

While others push them

Into concentration camps

And behind prison bars

Words are you and I

On a boat with no oar.
