10 injured as Jessore AL factions clash

The clash erupted when two activists Saiful and Mithu backed by AL central leader Kazi Nabil Ahmed attacked a post-rally procession of 14-party alliance near the district AL office at Daratana at around 6:15pm.

To resist the attack, Shahin Chaklader, general secretary, Farazi Shahadat Hossain, vice-president, Rabiul Aziz Tapu, activist, Anwar Hossain Mostak, organising secretary of Jubo League, journalist Monirul Islam Chowdhury and others were injured.

Of them, Anwar Hossain Mostak and Rabiul Aziz Tapu were rushed to Jessore General Hospital with serious injuries.

Later, the Shahin Chaklader faction staged a demonstration in front of Jessore Kotwali Police Station in protest against the incident.

They also blamed the police administration for their inaction at the time of the attack.

A case was lodged with the police station in this regard.
