10 killed, 58 injured in road accidents
Our Barisal Correspondent reports: At least three people were killed, two of them on the spot and another on way to hospital, and 26 injured when a bus fall to a roadside canal by breaking the railing of a bridge at Rayerbazar, about one kilometer from Banaripara upazila headquarter yesterday.
Two of them killed on the spot are bus passengers Sharmin Begum, 26,daughter of Sahabuddin Muhuri of Banaripara and Aziz Khan, 53, a pedestrian hailing from Narottampur of Banaripara. Aziz was crossing the bridge when the bus skidded off the road.
Critically injured Dulal, Mamun, Bahadur and Shahin Dakua were rushed to Barisal Shere Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Dulal, 45, a shopkeeper at Narayanpur in Uzirpur upazila, died at the hospital in the afternoon. Condition of the rest three is critical, doctors said.
Ten others were admitted at Banaripara Health Complex and the rest were given first aid.
Our Sirajganj Correspondent reports: Two persons were killed and five others injured, one of them seriously, when a loaded truck fell into a roadside ditch at Ramarchar on Hatikumrul-Banpara road in Tarash upazila Sunday night.
The wood-loaded truck from tarash was going to Solonga. Truck helper Shohel Rana 36, of Jahangir Gati village in Solonga died on the spot while an unidentified person aged about 30 died on while being taken hospital. The unidentified person traveling in the truck.
Our Brahmanbaria Correspondent reports: Two people were killed and 25 injured when two buses collided at Shahbazpur in Sarail upazila on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway yesterday.
The injured were admitted to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital, Sarail Upazila Health Complex and two clinics.
A Correspondent reports from Pabna: Two motorcyclists were killed and another was injured when their bike hit a sugarcane loaded truck on the road at Baharpur on the Pabna-Ishwardi highway Sunday night.
Siddiqur Rahman, 35, of Dashuria-Darghapara village in Ishwardi and his brother-in-law Suruj Ali, 32, died on the spot, police said.
