11 criminals held in Ctg

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and Police arrested 11criminals in separate drives in the port city in the last two days.

During the drives they recovered around 680 litres of local-made wine (Bangla) and some contraband Phensidyl syrup.

According to sources, Halishahar police in a drive arrested Nurul Islam and Nazrul Islam, accused in the Thursday night's abduction and killing of police informer Bablu, from Chhotopole area at around 11am yesterday.

Meanwhile, a team of Rab-7 of Chittagong, acting on a tip off, raided Wazer Goli (Wayez' lane) in the city's Bakolia area and recovered around 680 litres of locally made liquor at around 2am yesterday.

They also arrested four people - Md Alam and Liakat Ali of Bakolia, Monir Hossain of Murad Nagar in Comilla, and Md Salim of Nariya in Shariyatpur, in this connection.

Double Mooring police in a raid at Dewanhat area on Friday night recovered 49 bottles of contraband Phensidyl syrup and held three liquor sellers - Md Haris, Amir Hossain, and Abdur Rahman.

A team of the same police station in another drive arrested a liquor seller identified as Kamal Uddin, also convicted of 2-year imprisonment, from Hajipara area on Friday night.

On the other hand, Khulshi police held another liquor seller - Moslem Uddin, a convict for 2 years in jail in a drug case, from Lalkhan Bazar Matijharna area yesterday afternoon.
