14-party grand rally in Khulna tomorrow

Hasina, also Awami League president, will address the divisional grand rally as chief guest in the afternoon at the Circuit House Maidan.

Other leaders of 14-party alliance will arrive in Khulna tomorrow.

Meanwhile, security measures have been stepped up in the city following Friday's grand rally of 14-party alliance. About 1500 members of police and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have been assigned to maintain law and order in the city during the grand rally. Rab will guard the podium, KMP sources said.

Check-posts have been set up at all key points in the city with adequate security forces so that no untoward incident occurs during arrival of leaders, activists and supporters of the opposition Awami League and other components of 14-party alliance.

Besides, about 500 activists of Awami League and its front organisations will guard the podium as volunteers, said city AL secretary Mizanur Rahman.
