2 children drown in Kaliakoir

They were identified as Pranto Islam Antor, 6, son of Abdus Sobhan, and Sabrina, 7, daughter of Dulal Meah of Srifaltoli village.

The two were cousins and playing near the pond at about 10:00am, locals said.

At one stage of playing, Antor went to the pond to pick up water lily and drowned.

Sabrina also drowned when she wanted to help Antor.

Later the villagers recovered their bodies from the pond.
