2 killed in road accidents
Our Correspondent from Gaibandha reports: One Abdul Jobber, 37, of village Bazra under Sunderganj Upazila was crushed under the wheel of a speedy microbus on Hatiya bridge on Gaibandha-Sunderganj road yesterday.
A speedy microbus hit Jobber from behind when he was returning home and was crushed under the wheel leaving him dead on the spot.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Our Correspondent from Sirajganj reports: A schoolboy was killed and two others were injured, one of them critically, in a road accident on Sirajganj-Bogra highway at Shanpur in Sadar upazila yesterday.
Police and witnesses said the accident occurred at 7:30am when a Bogra-bound truck from Sirajganj town lost control over the steering and hit three pedestrians leaving schoolboy Suzon 12, son of Asad Ali of Bromho Khola village, dead on the spot and two others injured.
The injured were taken to Sadar hospital. Of them, injured Nazrul Islam's condition is critical.
Local people put up barricade on the road following the accident and set fir to the truck disrupting vehicular movement for an hour from 8:00am to 9:00am.
On information, Sadar police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Police also recovered the body and sent it to Sadar hospital for autopsy.
