2 prime witnesses record statements
Two important witnesses recorded their statements before the Court of Chittagong Metropolitan and Session's Judge yesterday in the sensational Chittagong arms haul case.
Witness Helal Uddin and Alauddin, the two sacked sergeants of Chittagong Metropolitan Police, were on duty at Koilar Depot outpost and at Bandar outpost when the huge cache of smuggled firearms were hauled on April 1 night in 2004.
They said they witnessed the offloading of the sophisticated weapons hauled at Chittagong Urea Fertilizer Ltd (CUFL) jetty.
