2 Shibir activists assaulted on DU campus
Workers of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), Bangladesh Chhatra Union (BCU) and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Chhatra League yesterday assaulted two activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS), student front of ruling Jamaat-e-Islami, on Dhaka University (DU) campus.
They took the ICS activists, identified as Nazmul Islam, a fourth year student of Islamic Studies Department and Rakibul Islam, a first year student of Political Science Department, to the proctor's office and demanded academic actions against them, as ICS is spreading 'fundamentalism' among the students.
They beat up the ICS activists when they were distributing their party leaflet, sources said.

However, Proctor Prof AK Firoz Ahmed said police took the ICS men to safe custody.
