2,757 bottles of phensidyl seized

In Gazipur, a team of CID police intercepted a Dhaka-bound truck from Rajshahi at about 4:30pm and recovered 2,000 bottles of phensidyl wrapped in the sacks inside the truck.

They also held truck driver Jahangir.

Another report from Faridpur adds: a team of DNC arrested three drug peddlers along with 707 bottles of phensidyl from a microbus at Rajbari crossing on Dhaka-Khulna highway on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, the team put up barricade on the road to intercept the Dhaka-bound microbus and recovered 707 bottles of phensidyl at about 3:00pm.

They also arrested three drug peddlers Manjur Rahman, M Mamaun, and Roni alias Hasan from the car.

In Magura, police arrested two female drug peddlers along with 50 bottles of Indian phensidyl from a hotel in the town on Monday.

Police raided Hotel Shaikat at noon and arrested Sabura Khatun, 45, and Shirin Akter, 25, along with the syrups.
