3 commit suicide

Shahera Khatun, 15, committed suicide by hanging herself with a scarf from the ceiling fan at her room on Friday night, police said.

Shahera had been working as a domestic help at the residence of Abdur Razzak, senior principal officer of Motijheel branch of Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd, at North Jatrabari in the city.

Shahera is a daughter of one Sohrab Ali of Kaliganj in Shatkhira.

Police recovered her body at 9:30pm on Friday.

Nasrin Akhter, 20, hanged herself with a scarf from a ceiling fan at her room at the residence of Kamrul Islam Chowdhury at Dhanmondi in the city, where she had been working as a domestic help for the last two years.

Nasrin, daughter of Jahangir Alam of Hajiganj, committed suicide at around 8:30am, police said.

Meanwhile, Abul Hossain, 32, a rickshaw puller, committed suicide over a family feud by hanging himself from the ceiling yesterday morning at his home at Keraniganj.

The dead was identified as son of Hazrat Ali of Khalpar Charail at Keraniganj.
