3 die in Ctg road mishaps

Witnesses said two people were killed and two others injured when a Chittagong-bound truck collided head on with a Feni-bound CNG-run autorickshaw at Panthichilla area under Sitakunda upazila at 9:00am.

The accident left autorickshaw passenger Nurul Islam, 43, of Faridpur and driver Alamgir, 38, killed on the spot.

Other passengers of the CNG named Nasrul and Yusuf were injured seriously and admitted to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital.

Police seized the killer truck and arrested its driver and helper.

A case was filed in this connection.

Meanwhile, a minor boy aged about 7 was killed on the spot when a speeding truck ran over him at Kumira under the same upazila at around 9:15am.

The boy was reportedly a student of Magpukurpar Government Primary School and fell victim to the accident while crossing the road, sources said.

Local people put up a barricade on the road protesting the accident that disrupted the communication on the highway for an hour.
