3 JMB men held a day after their release on bail

The JMB activists -- Abdul Mannan, Abdul Jalil and Ziaur Rahman -- were re-arrested in connection with a looting and bomb blast incident at Ullapara Grameen Bank on January 9, 2005, police sources said.

The arrestees were on their way home following their release on bail from district jail at Kandapara.

After the blast on August 17, 2005, police filed a case accusing 16 people, including Ataur Rahman Sunny and Abdul Awal.

Police submitted a charge sheet to the court against four of them after an investigation, while the rest were acquitted of the charge due to lack of evidence.

The charge-sheeted accused are Sarwar Jahan Sharif of Chapainawabganj, Abdur Rashid Mamun alias Faruk of Gaibandha, Bashir alias Jewel of Natore and Tarikul Islam Habil of Sirajganj.

The three and Tarikul Islam Habil were arrested earlier for their suspected link with the August 17 blast.
