3,400 textbooks seized in city
Police arrested two persons from a bookshop at Banglabazar in the city during a drive on Tuesday on charge of illegally printing and selling textbooks of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).
The police also seized a total of 3,400 textbooks from Ryad Library located at Parry Das Road.
The NCTB in a press release said that the board publishes textbooks of secondary level every year and that the book printing and binding work has been going on this year.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. But before marketing of these books, some unscrupulous businessmen have already printed such books and are selling those secretly, it said.
The NCTB also warned that it will conduct more drives and take legal action against those involved in such malpractice.
