35 shops gutted in Narayanganj
A devastating fire gutted 35 shops at Shiddhirganj in the district disrupting traffic on Dhaka-Chittagong highway for about an hour.
Fire Brigade sources said the fire originated from an electric short-circuit at about 5:00am and soon raged through the shops built on a government land at Shimrail.
On information, firefighters from four fire stations rushed to the spot and put out the blaze at about 8:00am.
