4 contestants accorded reception

The four contestants -- Sabrina Tabassum, Rafatul Faria, Shoumen Das and ASM Shahidul Islam -- were selected from 18,000 students through math festivals held across the country, organised by Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad (BMO) Committee.

This is the second time that a Bangladesh team has taken part in the International Mathematical Olympiad.

Each contestant of the team was given a crest at the reception ceremony at Liberation War Museum in the city.

Eminent economist Prof Muzaffer Ahmad, Hamidul Hossain Tareq Bir Bikram, The Hunger Project's Global Vice-President Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar, Coach of BMO Committee Dr Mahbub Mojumdar and women leader Tazima Hossain Mojumdar were present at the ceremony.
