The four Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) men, now on 10-day remand second time, were sent to Dhaka yesterday for further interrogation at the Joint Interrogation Cell (JIC).

A Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) team took the four JMB men -- Chittagong divisional chief Mohammad alias Javed Iqbal alias Aman Ullah, Cox's Bazar zone commander Naimuzzaman alias Jafar alias Sohag, Rafiqul Islam alias Roman and Monirul Islam -- to the capital.

Rab has a plan to make Mohammad issue a public statement in Dhaka, like JMB military chief Ataur Rahman Sunny, calling all the militants to surrender before the law enforcing agencies soon and shun the path of militancy, sources said.

Mohammad and Naimuzzaman were arrested on December 13 with huge cache of explosives, bomb-making materials and bombs from their den at city's Kattali area. Roman and Monir were arrested the following day.

The four were taken on 10-day remand on December 16 and sent to the JIC. They were placed on fresh 10-day remand on December 25.
